14. Halloween Jack-O-Lantern

To make this Jack-O-Lantern, I used photoshop. First, I searched online for a picture of a pumpkin. After that, I opened the picture in photoshop and used the magnetic lasso tool to outline the pumpkin, copy it, and paste it onto a black background. Next, I chose the freedom pen tool to "carve" out the eyes, nose, and mouth of the pumpkin. Afterwards, I merged the layers of the Jack-O-Lantern's face and used the blending option to make the effect that the lantern was glowing. To apply the finishing touches, I used the brush tool to make the light shine onto the background, and I added the text.

13. Change One Thing Poster

In order to mimic the New York City Food Bank "Change One Thing" poster, I used photoshop. First I found a photo of a bag of chip and another photo of berries. I replaced the chips with the berries using a clipping mask, and the copy merged function. Next, I opened a new file 7 by 5 inches and chose a solid color background. I then added the berry-chip picture and, with the blending options, put a white glow around the photo. Lastly, I researched the benefits of eating berries and added this information to the poster.

The NYC FOOD BANK LOGO was used solely for educational purposes. No Copy Right infringement was intended.

12. Texture With Layer Mode

'Designing' this dress took a number of step and the use of photoshop. First, I chose a generic black dress and a type of texture (in this case, I used lightning) from the internet and opened the dress first in photoshop. I used the magnetic lasso tool to select the entire dress, then pressed on edit and selected the copy merge function. Afterwards, I opened the texture and pasted it on top of the dress. I used a clipping mask so that the texture would stay on the dress. To finish, I selected color dodge and lowered the luminosity to make it look more realistic.

11. Club Flyer Using 3 Different Text Styles

To make this flyer, I used a gradient tool to make a black and white gradient for the background. I chose the eraser tool and chose a star stencil from the preset brush picker. Next, I wrote the title of the club (Astronomy Club) and used the blending options to make the text look like plastic. under the title, I wrote a couple of sentences to attract those who are interested in astronomy. Afterwards, I chose a space background and minimized it. I used a clipping mask and the blending options to make the a photo-filled background for the text 'JOIN US'. The final text that I used was glass text, which is made using the blending option. The information in glass text is the person in charge of the club, what days the club will meet, and at what time the club meeting are at. To make the flyer complete, I inserted the NASA logo which I downloaded from the internet.
